CareerBuilder surveyed hospitality employees across the nation to see what work-related issues frightens them most. At the top of the list, layoffs.
Nearly 40 percent of respondents said that layoffs keep them up at night. Other frightening issues include:
- Pay cuts – 13%
- Workload – 9%
- Presenting in front of other people – 9%
- Forced relocation – 4%
- The boss – 3%
The survey also had workers rank frightening professions not related to hospitality, even though dealing with customers and bosses can be scary . According to the survey, the top 5 scariest jobs are:
- Bomb Squad Technician (well... dealing with some GMs is like being a bomb squad technician...)
- High Rise Window Washer
- Armed Forces
- Miner (in some hotels you better ar a DE mine...)
- Police Officer
Some other notable professions that made the list: high school teacher in 9th; stand-up comedian in 12th; and politician in 15th.
